Prime secures fifth consecutive win at the HealthInvestor Awards 2024

Prime is celebrating after being crowned ‘Developer of the Year’ for the fifth time in a row at the HealthInvestor Awards 2024.

The awards celebrate excellence and outstanding achievements within the healthcare sector. The Developer of the Year award acknowledges organisations that exemplify their values, demonstrating integrity and commitment to delivering positive change for their clients.

The judges highlighted Prime’s development role in significant private hospital developments and how this made the submission stand out. They were also impressed by the range of public and private health collaboration. They concluded that Prime is redefining the standards of healthcare infrastructure in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

In 2023, Prime showcased its vision through several landmark projects, including The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham, a £100 million private hospital, noted as the most technically advanced independent facility constructed outside of London. The year also marked the opening of the GenesisCare Cancer Centre, a state-of-the-art cancer treatment centre in Surrey. These projects underpin Prime’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and shaping the future of healthcare.

Prime’s award submission highlighted the deep engagement with the communities it serves, the sustainability of its buildings, its environmentally responsible construction and operation and prioritised the health and wellbeing of both staff and clients.

Leighton Chumbley, Prime’s Chief Executive, expressed his pride and excitement at the achievement: “We are delighted to be honoured as Developer of the Year once again. This award is a testament to our team’s unwavering focus on creating innovative and sustainable solutions that make a real difference to the NHS.

“2023 was a standout year for us, marked by the completion of The Harborne Hospital, a groundbreaking project that sets new standards for healthcare facilities outside of London. Our team’s dedication over the seven-year period from inception to completion was remarkable.

“We will leverage the lessons learned last year to drive the success of our future developments. We are committed to improving the lives of those in the communities we serve, exemplified by our upcoming stand-alone diagnostics centre in Yeovil, which will provide over 70,000 diagnostic tests and outpatient appointments to patients in Somerset and north-west Dorset.

“In an industry that is continuously evolving, we continue to work hard to maintain our leadership position by responding to new challenges and pushing boundaries through innovation and creativity.”
