Celebrating International Women’s Day: Accelerate Action

As we join the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day, Prime is excited to embrace this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action.” This theme resonates deeply with our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone, particularly in our efforts to support menopause at work.

“Accelerate Action” is a worldwide call to acknowledge the strategies, resources and activities that positively impact women’s advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation. Significant barriers to gender equality remain, yet positive progress can be made for women everywhere with the right action and support.

Menopause is a normal part of life, and we are dedicated to breaking down any stigma and misunderstanding that still remains. At Prime, we are committed to providing comprehensive support for our people impacted by menopause and are actively promoting this with support from our Hormone Health Advocates.

To mark International Women’s Day, Prime’s Wellbeing Team focused on promoting bone health. Women are four times more likely to develop osteoporosis, and going through menopause also contributes to bone loss. To create awareness around this, we set up an engaging display in the middle of the office featuring our own skeleton, Indiana Bones, with facts tagged to her for staff to read and discover more about bone health. Additionally, we offered quizzes and word searches, creating an interactive and informative experience.

Our Wellbeing Team shared further facts and information throughout the day, educating employees on the essential nutrients for bone health. While women are more likely to develop osteoporosis, it’s not just a woman’s issue, as one in five men over 50 will experience a fracture due to decreasing bone density.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strides we have made in supporting our staff through important life changes. This celebration is not just about acknowledging our accomplishments but also about reaffirming our commitment to continuous improvement.
