Prime has received planning consent from Runnymede Borough Council for the change of use at the Hythe Centre in Egham, paving the way for a significant healthcare upgrade in North West Surrey. The approval will enable the relocation of a local GP practice from outdated portacabin facilities into purpose-designed premises within the repurposed community centre.
The planning application, submitted on 1 September 2025, was approved just six weeks later on 9 October — a turnaround that sets a new record for Prime and stands in contrast to the typically lengthy planning process.
“This is a major milestone for the project and a testament to the dedication of the team who worked hard to get the application submitted within a tight timeframe,” said a Prime spokesperson. “The speed of approval reflects both the strength of the proposal and the urgency of improving healthcare infrastructure in the area.”
The refurbishment of the Hythe Centre is part of Prime’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable healthcare environments through strategic partnerships and community-focused design.
Further updates on the project timeline and construction phases are expected in the coming weeks.
