The Prime Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for grant funding are now open for community projects in Cornwall.
Prime invests in the foundation as part of its commitment to giving back to the communities where new health and care facilities are developed. In Cornwall, Prime are working with Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust to develop new accommodation for key workers in Truro.
To be eligible to apply for the fund, projects must align with the foundation’s aims of advancing education outside the classroom, promoting good physical and mental health, and enhancing social wellbeing through recreation.
Last year several impactful projects in Worcestershire were awarded grants, funding materials for an art therapy group supporting adults with autism, woodworking tools for a social enterprise in a day centre and outdoor play equipment for children with special education needs and/or disabilities.
Stacey Hazleton, Finance and Admin Assistant at Vale of Evesham School, said: “Children in our early years’ classes at Vale of Evesham School (a generic all age special school) are learning through play with the fantastic new outdoor play equipment which was funded thanks to the Prime Foundation. Children’s motor skills, role play, and peer interaction have been met with a variety of sensory, balance and stimulating apparatus which has resulted in a lot of happy smiling learners.”
Leighton Chumbley, Prime Foundation Trustee, said: “We are delighted to open applications for funding in Cornwall. Each time we announce funding in an area, we are reminded just how many people are working every day to serve their community and we’re confident Cornwall will be no exception. We look forward to hearing from local groups to see how we can help support their great initiatives and ideas.”
