Prime recognised as a finalist in the Property Awards Developer of the Year category

Prime is celebrating being named a finalist in Property Week’s prestigious Property Awards, Developer of the Year – Commercial Property category. The awards celebrate excellence in commercial property and bring together the key players in the sector, including developers, entrepreneurs, investors, financiers and agencies.

Leighton Chumbley, Prime’s Chief Executive, said: “Being shortlisted for Developer of the Year is a fantastic validation of Prime’s pioneering spirit. We have been regarded as the standout developer within our market for many years and have helped to raise the profile of healthcare real estate within the property industry as a whole. It is very rewarding for our team that healthcare is no longer a niche but a mainstream asset class.

“Our dedication to innovation in design and creativity in funding drives us to maintain our leadership position in an ever-evolving market. Our motivated team leverages extensive commercial knowledge and specialised expertise to deliver positive change for the communities we work within.

“This recognition energises us to continue pushing boundaries and disrupt established models to shape the future of healthcare. I am immensely proud of what our team has achieved, and this nomination serves as a testament to their determination and passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”

Prime’s flagship project highlighted in the entry, The Harborne Hospital, epitomises this creativity and determination. The £100 million hospital, situated on the QE Hospital site in Birmingham, stands as a cornerstone within HCA Healthcare’s extensive global portfolio. This project is notably the largest hospital outside of the NHS network in the UK, showcasing Prime’s ability to push boundaries and set new industry benchmarks.

The expertise required of the Prime team to deliver a building that includes the most advanced technology and equipment, including the region’s first da Vinci Xi robot in the private sector, as well as the latest generation of CT and MRI scanners, is unparalleled in other mainstream real estate sectors. The 158,500 sqft building also includes 50 private ensuite inpatient beds, 16 private day-care beds, a Linac bunker and a specialist oncology unit.

As a B Corp, Prime is one of the developers in the industry leading on ensuring the environment and local communities are also benefiting from positive social value. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in July at Grosvenor House, London.
