The Shri Venkateswara (Balaji) Temple is one of the largest functioning Hindu temples in Europe. It is dedicated in the Vaishnava tradition to a form of the Hindu god Vishnu and is involved in a number of initiatives to improve the local community.
Prime awarded funding to buy planting equipment, contributing to the ‘Sandwell Breathes’ project, which the Temple planned in partnership with the Woodland Trust. This involved planting saplings on the Temple grounds in aims of improving the air quality in Sandwell.
In March 2022, local temple-goers, school children and groups, including some of our team at Prime, planted 400 saplings.
Funding was generated through Prime’s work delivering a 400-space multi-storey car park at Sandwell Hospital in West Bromwich and a 550-space car park at City Hospital in Birmingham.
